On vacation after today
Hey gang,
Thanks for reading my blogcast...I hope you do so every day that I post one.
I do have a show today but am too swamped with taking care of a sick wife and son and packing for our great listener trip to central/eastern Europe that I'm leaving for shortly after the show today so I'm putting together a shorter Blogcast
If you want to check out where around 32 listeners and I are going: The Great Cities of Eastern Europe with Ross Kaminsky - Cruise & Tour
The blogcast will return on Monday, April 27th when I'll be back to the show.
Jimmy Sengenberger is in for me while I'm away. He's a good dude...give him a try!
Catch you in two weeks....
Ross

Just One Thing: Testing the Blockade?
If you missed my interview with Doomberg yesterday, I highly recommend a listen: Doomberg on the Big-Picture Issues Raised by the US's War with Iran | KOA 850 AM & 94.1 FM | Ross Kaminsky on the News with Jeana Gondek
One of the topics that came up was how the military, i.e. Trump as commander-in-chief, would react if a ship, especially a Chinese ship, tried to run the blockade. Neither Doomy nor I hazarded an opinion — after all, an opinion on such things is a hazard these days. But the opportunity to see the question in action seemed likely as President Xi would want (and I, were I in his position, would want) to test an American president whom he (Xi) had so thoroughly manipulated with flattery.
It appears the scenario is playing out already: US-sanctioned tanker tests Trump blockade with Hormuz exit
Much like when Trump painted himself into a corner with his wildly aggressive and inappropriate threats to destroy Iranian civilization and then was given a way out by Pakistan’s suggestion of a ceasefire, Trump again is in a position where he both must act and can’t act and could benefit from a graceful way out of his self-imposed quandary, a way out that can probably only be granted by an enemy unless there’s just a full TACO.
Conceptually, blocking the Iranian regime’s ability to sell oil makes good sense. One wonders if Trump has considered what he’ll do if the Chinese test his willingness to enforce the blockade, given China’s ability to at least partially blockade Taiwan.
