Welcome to April
I probably won't say this on the air, but for those folks who take the time to read this note I will remind you that it's April Fools day so you can expect more than a little misinformation on today's show.
Just One Thing: Kristi Noem's husband's big boobs
OK, this is the most insane story of the day. Or week. Or year.
I have only one comment: No wonder ICE Barbie was sleeping with Corey Lewandowski instead (although initially it seems, or she wants us to believe, that she was unaware...)

Other Stuff
President Trump will finally speak to the nation at 7 PM this evening. I wonder if it will be his “mission accomplished” moment but I think many people will wonder if he even really had a particular mission and if it was really accomplished.
Trump to address the nation with 'important' Iran war update
I think something like this will actually happen. The question is whether the public will accept Trump's claim of having accomplished his mission. I think Dems will claim, and media will amplify, that he really didn't.

This is somewhat annoying. These are very well-intended folks and we had them in studio to talk about the opening of the facility. And now we learn this?

A bunch of court case news
We talked about this briefly yesterday when the opinion was first released:
The actual ruling: 24-539 Chiles v. Salazar (03/31/2026)
Supreme Court upholds First Amendment right to ‘conversion’ talk therapy for LGBT kids (may require subscription)
What exactly do they mean by “next steps”? You tried to do something so obviously illegal that even Sonia Sotomayor voted against you. How about just dropping it and moving on? Colorado leaders weigh next steps after US Supreme Court rejects state ban on 'conversion therapy' - Denver Gazette
But to answer my own question a little bit, check out the "hint" from Justice Kagan (beginning on page 28 the ruling PDF linked above) in which she says/suggests that "if Colorado had instead enacted a content-based but viewpoint-neutral law, it would raise a different and more difficult question."
Other court stuff:
The Supreme Court will hear oral argument in the birthright citizenship case today. And this really is about the merits of the issue, unlike a case last year:
Trump v. Barbara (Birthright Citizenship) - SCOTUSblog
Birthright Citizenship Hits the Supreme Court - WSJ
This seems pretty obviously correct. The feds simply can't "commandeer" state and local law enforcement: Federal judge dismisses US government lawsuit against Colorado, Denver over immigration policies - Denver Gazette
OK, I'm glad that Trump may be forced to actually do something the right way but we all know there’s no remedy since the old building is already gone. Federal judge halts Trump's White House ballroom construction

This will be interesting. I think Trump loses at the Supreme Court if it gets there, but I think at least a couple of justices will vote with him. Separately, imagine the logistical nightmare of a state having to give the Post Office a list of all eligible voters, and then the Post Office having to check the list before mailing a ballot. Insane.

I'm sooooo sick of Trump's name on stuff. A normal human without as much psychological damage as this president would have told DeSantis not to sign a bill like this until after Trump was out of office. Ron DeSantis signs bill to rename Palm Beach airport after Trump
I think it's ridiculous and wildly narcissistic: Trump's signature on US dollar bills. How do US residents feel about it?

When I first moved to Colorado having previously lived in New York, Chicago, Amsterdam, and Sydney, I found the Denver metro area to have a very weak restaurant scene. Boy has that changed!
