Today's Guests
Andy McCarthy is a former federal prosecutor and contributing editor at National Review. We'll discuss his take on whether the Trump administration's strikes on drug boats (the first strikes and, as a separate question, the much-discussed "double-tap") are legal. I can imagine this story sticking around...and I can imagine it fading away. It all depends on whether Republicans care to continue digging into it. And as of yesterday that's looking somewhat in doubt: House panel plans to end its boat strike probe, GOP chair says - The Washington Post and ‘It's done’ — House Armed Services chair sees no need to further probe boat strike - Live Updates - POLITICO

Wow, that's big money. Not that long ago I had a chance to buy into SpaceX at a company valuation of $280 billion. I didn't do it, in part because I was uncomfortable with the minimum investment and in part because I struggled with that valuation, but clearly that seems like a bargain now, only about a year later: SpaceX Said to Pursue 2026 IPO Raising Far Above $30 Billion - Bloomberg

Republicans must not extend these temporary Obamacare subsidies. It's the best reminder in a while of the permanence of temporary government programs. But I still think it's 50/50 that they will (just not by voting for the Democrats' bill this week). The GOP has utterly failed for more than 15 years to even come up with a credible health care/insurance plan. Now do they have too many? (Well, including the word "credible" probably eliminates some of these.) Senate Republicans Needed a Plan on Health Care. They Ended Up With Too Many. - NOTUS — News of the United States
I don't know enough about the details of the proposed HSA thing to have a strong opinion. It sounds very expensive but anything that causes people to regulate how and how much they consume health care (because they are incentivized to pay attention to cost) would be a great thing.

Look, I’m not a culture warrior but I am a rational person and this is absolutely insane. I sure hope these are real too. And why are so many of the thieves fat and ugly?
