Just One Thing: The federal workforce piñata
Larry Kudlow said some crazy stuff on TV Tuesday, stuff that he has to know is wrong.
He argued that any workers currently furloughed are by definition “non-essential” and therefore can and should be fired (though, because he “doesn’t want to be cruel”, he’d do it with severance packages.)
I want much smaller government as much as Larry does but his comment was nuts.

Leland Vittert is the host of "On Balance" on News Nation which airs weeknights at 7 PM MT and again at 10 PM MT. His daily "War Notes" newsletter is a must-read (and it's free). And his new book, Born Lucky, is truly remarkable. And the timing is also "lucky" with autism being a big part of a national conversation about health right now.

We do NOT need to “prevent insurance premium hikes”. We need to stop masking the fact that government is making health care shockingly expensive.

I want to make sure I get to this today because I'm happy about it even as I have slight qualms about this level of regulation. I also note that I didn't realize the existing law didn't apply to streaming services. I've said sooooo many times in the past few months (to my wife), "it's very annoying how loud the ads are".

I wish Denver much success. It has a lot of stigma to overcome among locals and near-locals right now. It's also going to need a lot more people coming back to downtown offices. Maybe a nicer 16th Street (no longer "16th Street Mall) will encourage that.
