Just One Thing: CO Dems firearms insanity
Colorado Senate gives preliminary OK to semiautomatic gun ban after adding big carveout
Senate Bill 3 is the most aggressive effort yet by anti-gun forces in the state legislature. These are uniformly people who know nothing about firearms and I suspect that most of them have never fired a gun.
In its original form, SB3 would ban almost all semi-automatic rifles sold today and some pistols as well (not just "AR pistols"). The governor has threatened to veto the bill so the Dems have added a loophole that basically will allow someone to buy the same guns they can buy today if they go through some training. I think it's all unconstitutional but clearly it's been designed to allow Dems to make a case that it isn't so restrictive as to be unconstitutional. SB3 envisions firearms that come with detachable magazines to instead be sold with fixed (welded or epoxied) magazines. That is unworkable and adds significantly to safety risks because of what someone would have to do to try to clear a jam or misfire if unable to remove the magazine.
Dems think their loophole will cause the governor to sign the bill. They might be right but I sure hope not.
And think of the idiocy of it all: "We think these guys are too dangerous so you shouldn't be able to buy them. But, OK, take a class and you can buy them." Which is it? It's all virtue-signaling nonsense. It's unconstitutional. And it's focusing on something that most Coloradans don't care about when they should be focusing on reducing fees and helping Coloradans lower our cost of living.

What congressional Democrats either don't understand or don't want to believe is that normal Americans, including normal Democrats, as they learn about the incredible levels of waste, fraud, and abuse of THEIR/OUR tax dollars, support DOGE and (at least much of) the aggressive reform and downsizing of government, even if it appears somewhat chaotic.
Dems have no idea what they're fighting against and do realize that defending the indefensible is 1) bad politics and 2) what Americans are now realizing the Dems have been doing for at least a quarter-century.
