Just One Thing: A correction
I made a mistake yesterday when I said that Donald Trump's idea for the US to control, develop, and own Gaza was impossible but didn't have much downside as far as saying it. The latter part was wrong. The problem was that Trump said that Saudi Arabia would be willing to make peace with Israel regardless of the formation (or at least likely formation) of a Palestinian state. Now that might have been true and probably was in 2020 during the negotiations of the Abraham Accords, but it's NOT the kind of thing you say out loud. Because now, to make sure their own people don't turn against them, the Saudis have been forced to say that they will not make peace with Israel without a Palestinian state. In short, it appears that Trump hurt his own most important project in that part of the world.

Rick Winer is a practicing psychiatrist and the Broncos road statistician. He will be keeping stats for the Chiefs Spanish-language broadcast for the second year in a row. He has covered many Super Bowls including SB50 for KOA, games for Westwood One, CBS Sports, and other national outlets. We'll talk about things like working with stats during a game and the odds of a Scorigami.

Unsurprisingly, Trump doesn't actually understand the history he relies on and neither do his minions...the folks who keep texting me how well tariffs funded the government more than 100 years ago. When the federal government spent about 1/8 as much as it does now as a percentage of GDP.

However, there does appear to be a legitimate question about US gov't spending on media subscriptions. We don’t exactly understand all the details but some of this doesn’t seem great. Actually, the Politico stuff that got all the attention on Weds isn’t really the most interesting part.

Dumb, but hard to get too excited. That said, are you aware of the law that requires American businesses to accept US currency? I thought there was such a law, but apparently there isn’t except when settling a debt or paying the government.
