A lovely story to start your morning

I rarely post stuff like this, but a thread I saw on X/Twitter this morning nearly brought me to tears. Gotta read the whole thread. I hope you can click on the one post I put here and then scroll down through the rest. Not sure you can if you're not logged into Twitter/X.

Just One Thing: Not who he said he was

A few days ago, CNN’s great war correspondent Clarissa Ward went into a prison at Syrian air force intelligence headquarters and released a prisoner who gave a name and town and said that he had been arrested three months ago, presumably as a political prisoner, and had no idea that the Assad government was overthrown. It turns out that the guy was a great actor. Now he may or may not have been in prison for three months but he has now been identified as a member of Syrian Air Force Intelligence who, per reports, “was known for running the Air Force Intelligence Directorate’s checkpoints in the city and has a reputation for extortion and harassment.” CNN wants everyone to know, and it’s true, that a Syrian rebel, not CNN, freed the prisoner. But still…wow.

I note that a LOT of people claimed that CNN staged the whole thing, which I didn't and don't believe. Still, the story is clearly not what they thought it was.

Today's Guests

Darrell Watson is a member of the Denver City Council and a sponsor of the city's ban on flavored tobacco and nicotine products.

Yesterday, the Denver City Council, on an 11-1 vote (with Kevin Flynn the only "no") passed a pointless ban on flavored tobacco and nicotine products. Yes, it includes pretty much any flavored tobacco or nicotine product you want to name other than hookah-pipe tobacco (because cultural diversity, or something.) It's stupid because it's doomed to 1) not achieve it's stated goal while 2) costing Denver jobs and sales tax revenue.

I don't have much to say but I feel that I should say something: Another school shooting. More senseless death. This time, unusually, by a girl albeit one who apparently identified as "non-binary" and who, per initial reporting, wanted all men dead. Where does that kind of brainwashing come from? Could she have picked up (even more) hatred from the idiot "womyn" who are shaving their heads after the election of Donald Trump? It's remarkable to consider, but the radical left, which once fought a war on boys and men (which the left mostly won), is now destroying women too.

I hate the actual time change but I think the effect is useful. Very tough call. As I mentioned on the show recently, TikTok would try to delay enforcement of the law requiring the parent company to sell TikTok to non-Chinese owners or else shut down in the US, and in particular they'd try to delay until Donald Trump took office and hope that somehow he could prevent enforcement. Theoretically he can't unless the Supreme Court overturns the law itself. BTW, it's not a coincidence that the law is scheduled to take effect the day before Trump's inauguration (though at the time the law was passed, they didn't know who would win the election.)
