Just One Thing: Yet another school shooting

There is literally nothing that I have to talk about that’s worse than school shootings. And they’re way too frequent. And Colorado has more than it’s share. Yesterday’s was at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, about an hour east of Atlanta and half an hour west of Athens. As of this writing, two teachers and two students have died but more have been injured that those numbers could rise. A 14-year-old student is in custody, having surrendered to the school resource officer. Aside from the sorrow and devastation of another senseless mass murder at a school, I have two things to say: First, thank goodness for the presence of an armed school resource officer. Second, I don’t know that the shooter took a parent’s gun, but I assume so for now. Therefore, my second message, to gun owners who are parents: please store your firearms securely. What a tragedy.

I also note this: Georgia shooting suspect was previously interviewed by FBI over threats (thehill.com)

Jared Polis is the governor of Colorado. We'll discuss his signing into law a property tax relief "compromise" that, frankly, his own party (the Dems) seem much more upset about than Republicans do even though Dems are in full control of the state government. What exactly should we read into that? Also, has Jared reconsidered his flippant response that gang problems in Aurora are a "feature of" the imagine of Aurora City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky?

Abortion might hurt Republicans among…some conservative men? In key shift, more men in red states speak out against abortion bans - The Washington Post

This kind of story will not be good for the GOP in states that have abortion measures on the ballot...and maybe in other states too though probably less than in 2022 and 2020:
