Just One Thing: You can't be serious

I’m so sick of “vibes”.

There’s a little more talk of policy on the Trump side than on the Harris side but still not enough. The Trump side is persistently angry, the Harris side is like a 16-yr-old who had laughing gas at the dentist and is saying wow, that was fun, can we do that again? And that's the "vibe" election that's happening right now. And I'll tell you, in all but the most extreme circumstances, Democrats are better at vibes.

An election that’s not about policy and a candidate, like Harris, that’s not about any policy except abortion and not taxing tips which she just stole from Trump, would get the support of people fat and happy enough, which is to say rich and insulated enough, to not care very much if Kamala takes over and attacks the economy. A recent poll shows something that I’d assume to be true: More people who believe inflation is a problem plan to vote for Trump.

So far, this election has incredibly serious ramfications but sure doesn't seem to be taken seriously by either candidate or by the media...but again the media knows that an unserious election benefits Kamala Harris.

Potentially a very big deal. Color me skeptical that anything supported by the teachers unions and "social justice organizations" and Chamber of Commerce-type groups (the only Republican-leaning groups that frequently support higher taxes) is something good for taxpayers. Let's talk about tipping, as both presidential candidates discuss not taxing tips. (Harris' proposal seems more limited as to who could qualify.)

Psychology matters, including potential psychological trauma. I know about this because psychological damage to me from a VERY bad day in financial markets negatively impacted my trading for the rest of my career. To me, the biggest issue here is what seems to be foot-dragging by the voting-machine companies to fix discovered vulnerabilities. I'm not very worried about actual hacking during this election but especially with this news being so public you know there will be redoubled efforts to attack our voting systems: The nation’s best hackers found vulnerabilities in voting machines — but no time to fix them - POLITICO
