Just One Thing: Appeal to his ego
Democrats who want Joe Biden out of the race are trying a new tactic…saying publicly that as it stands he’ll be viewed as one of the most successful presidents in at least the last 50 years. Now I think that’s delusional unless you define success as giving us a $2 trillion budget deficit, doubling the nation’s population of illegal aliens, and giving us the worst inflation since Jimmy Carter. BUT, as a psychological ploy it’s kinda smart. Appeal to Biden’s ego and suggest he go out on top like John Elway. The reason I think it won’t work is that he and especially his wife believe they have a lot more to do. She said that out loud about a year ago to a reporter. I continue to believe Biden isn’t leaving but I don’t blame Dems for trying.

John Heffron is one of my favorite comics and I'm always grateful that he stops by to spend time with me in studio even though he usually doesn't need to do so to sell tickets. He's relatable, hilarious, and just one of the best. I'll have a couple of pairs of tix to give away but if you don't win you can buy tickets to see John playing at Comedy Works South at the Landmark tonight (Thursday) at 7:30 PM or Friday or Saturday nights at 7:15 PM or 9:45 PM.
Other Stuff
A few topics are things I had hoped to get to yesterday but didn't...and it's gonna be a very fast show because Rockies pregame starts at 10:30 AM...
Normally this sort of thing wouldn't matter much but right now every time Biden is in front of a camera, it matters. Today's NATO press conference, which should start around 3:30 PM MT/5:30 PM ET (getting pretty late for old grandpa Joe), will be Biden first appearance in public in which he'll face anything other than a single friendly "journalist". Instead the White House (and world) press corps will be there to ask whatever they want to ask and this will be harder than usual for the WH to stage-manage because everyone will be watching for Biden's handlers to protect him by pre-selecting questioners and questions.
When we spoke with Libertarian Party candidate for president, Chase Oliver, he said he expected to be the Libertarian candidate on the Colorado ballot even though the state party said they were putting forward Robert F Kennedy Jr as the Libertarian candidate in Colorado. This article suggests the answer isn't clear as to what will happen: Colorado Libertarians fight with national party over RFK Jr. on ballot (denverpost.com)
However, my contact at the Secretary of State's office, who is someone in a senior position there, gave me this by email:
The Libertarian candidate is chosen by the national party (just like all presidential candidates representing political parties). So Chase Oliver will be the Libertarian candidate for president in Colorado ballots.
Separately, Robert Kennedy’s campaign has informed us that they will submit petition sections for review to petition Robert Kennedy onto the ballot as an unaffiliated candidate for president. Our office will review these sections to determine whether he has a sufficient number of signatures to be eligible for the ballot. That determination will be made by September 6.

Josep Borrell, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the EU Commission is proud of this, and it is good news although it should have happened sooner.
