Mon Blogcast: The happiness sin; Polis's vetoes; Voting on abortion

Just One Thing: This isn't right

One of my ongoing themes in my show and my thinking about life, the universe, and everything is the sin being perpetuated on Americas older children and younger adults by the political left, including these people’s teachers and whoever provides whatever our 15-30-year olds consume as news, of frightening them for political gain. Yes, it’s easy to say – and I do – that someone who refuses to have children because they believe they’re doing their part to stop climate change that way is exactly the person I don’t want creating their own brainwashed children. But we should be more angry at those who make our young people believe they have little chance of a good and long future. Among Americans over 60, we rank 10th in the world in happiness. For those below 30, we rank 62nd. That’s not OK.

Rich Sokol, who recently traveled to Israel to volunteer to help any way he could while so many people who would be working on farms and in businesses are now fighting Hamas, joins us to discuss the messy political situation in Israel:

Other Stuff

Since I like to start slowly on Mondays, meaning not jump right into politics or world events or other heavy stuff, let's warm up with this heart-warming story: He had strict instructions from the groom: ‘Stay away from the bridesmaid.’ Here’s what happened next | CNN

Abortion on the ballot in Colorado: Colorado voters will decide in November whether to protect abortion access in the state constitution - The Colorado Sun

I know that lots of folks on the left will just see these measures as being pushed by fill-in-the-blank-phobic conservatives, but I'm not anti-LGBT and I'm not conservative, and as a parent and someone who cares about basic fairness (and other things), I support both of these measures based on what I know of them today. (My only potential disagreement I don't think it matters a lot if a kid who has not gone through puberty plays sports with/as the gender that isn't what he/she was born with but neither do I think it's a good idea to set the precedent that that's allowed.)

The original coverage of this story by the left-wing "mainstream" media was ridiculous. I trust that not a one of those "reporters" will apologize...because their goal isn't actually reporting. It is, as Nellie Bowles writes in her new book (and Bari Weiss has long said), to help Biden win re-election.

I like to lean toward forgiving people when they apologize (assuming I believe they're sincere) and truly try to become better people…but sometimes a line has been crossed that can’t be uncrossed. I still hope Sean "Diddy" Combs becomes a better person but he deserves significant punishment (well, actually I really don't care, but hypothetically...) especially to the extent that he’s done this to others (because he probably paid this young woman a lot which doesn't make it OK but makes it arguably inappropriate for a criminal charge given that she shouldn't testify against him after being paid.) I wonder how many of the people who are crucifying Trump for paying off Stormy Daniels for a non-crime will have anything critical to say of "Diddy" for paying someone off to not report a crime.

Much to notice in here but I want to point out the honest of Fox's reporting that only a small number of Morehouse students turned their back on Biden while "mainstream" (left-leaning) outlets talked about the people who booed at, or walked out of, Jerry Seinfeld's commencement speech at Duke as if there were a large number who did so: Top moments from Biden's Morehouse commencement address | Fox News

My kid and I saw this on Imax on Saturday. We gave it 4/5. Quite entertaining. Nothing bad to say about it...not sure if it was worth $21 a person for Imax, but not sure it wasn't either.
