Might as well start the day with something beautiful and majestic

THIS
This is a wonderful episode of Bari Weiss' "Honestly" podcast: Honestly with Bari Weiss: Nicole Avant on Tragedy, Forgiveness, and Thinking Free on Apple Podcasts
Here's the text of a note I wrote to Bari (whose contact info I don't have so I'm trying to get it to her through one of her employees):
I know that most of conversation after the fascinating biographical part was about grief, (non-)victimhood, etc, but what showed up in my mind very near the beginning and stuck with me the whole time is how tragic and foolish it is that such a significant percentage of African-Americans these days are anti-Semitic when Jews played such a big role in the civil rights movement.
It’s true that the plural of “anecdote” is not “data”, but Ms. Avant’s wonderful stories about how Jews were pivotal in her dad getting the biggest opportunities in his life really struck me. That kind of thing must have happened a lot of times. It seems that the minds of many (of course not all) American blacks have been poisoned against us and that’s bad for us and bad for them.
p.s. If you weren't aware, Bari is Jewish (as am I.)

Just One Thing: Kristi Noem's massive unforced error
South Dakota governor and possible Trump running-mate Kristi Noem might have thought she was putting out a vibe of “I’m tough and I do what needs to be done” when she revealed in her new book that she shot a 14-month-old dog because it was too rambunctious for her liking and killed a neighbor’s chicken. She also killed a mean smelly goat. Her description, not mine. Guess her book editor really doesn’t like her much to let that story stay in the manuscript. But bottom line is it’s Noem’s unforced error. Baybe she's just hoping to sell books but now with “Kristi Noem is a Monster” trending on Twitter, and endless online stories of folks who took time with hyperactive puppies and turned them into great dogs, one has to think that Noem’s political future is as dead as Cricket the puppy.
Columbia University, take out the trash
So far, all we know for sure about this miscreant is that (s)he's been barred from being on campus at Columbia. If that's all that's happened, it's not enough.
It's absolutely shocking that they didn't anything at all much sooner. Apparently it was only the pressure of these videos getting public attention that caused them to take even this obvious step of kicking him/her off campus. But it's not nearly enough. (S)he must be expelled.
(S)he put out a statement that nobody believes, but I'll share anyway.
(S)he claims that the statements were taking out of context; they clearly weren't.
By the way, when this kid was in high school, (s)he said his/her goal was Congress. Don't think it can't happen. As I've said ad nauseum, the political left is the true home of anti-Semitism in America today.
Here's what a decent person sounds like:

Today's Guests
Scott Walter is CEO of the Capital Research Center and former Special Advisor to President George W Bush. His new book, Arabella: The Dark Money Network of Leftist Billionaires Secretly Transforming America -- which frankly is more interesting and important than I expected -- is a remarkable look inside the sleazy world of leftist "dark money", apparent skirting of IRS regulations and laws, and never-ending misleading of the public by setting up fake grassroots groups to impose leftist government on the nation.
