Important: if you want to be part of my group, email me and I'll give you specific instructions on how to sign up.
NOTE: A tax-deductible contribution of $180 is requested. (Or more if you want to donate more.) If you wonder about the number, it's because 18 and multiples of 18 are good luck in Jewish tradition.
I will likely split my time between two tables over the evening. A lot of Colorado bigshots at this event...it's been an annual thing for a while. Probably some folks you'll recognize.

Just One Thing: Even Gavin Newsom says "that's too far"
California Governor Gavin Newsom got something right yesterday when he vetoed a bill that would have banned tackle football for kids under the age of 12. For Newsom, who clearly wants to be president one day, and who does love the Nanny State, this was one 3-yard rush too far. Unsurprisingly the bill’s author is a Democrat from northern California who said “We all like freedoms and rights. But every once in a while the government steps in.” I think what he meant was, “nice rights you got there, would be a shame if I took them away because you think you should decide what’s best for your kid.” By the way, I don’t know that I’d let my kid play tackle football but the important part of that isn’t whether I would or wouldn’t, but that I, the parent, decide.

Tim Hale is a 33-year-old Army Reserve veteran was recently released from jail after spending nearly 3 years incarcerated for non-violent offenses on January 6th.
I am not at all sure that I even want to interview this man but I'm going to start into the conversation, see how it goes, and be ready to end the conversation at a moment's notice. If you read some of this you'll understand why. My goal is to see if there's any way to get into the mind of someone like this and see if it seems like he will give honest answers.

He was charged with Obstruction of an Official Proceeding, which was his only felony charge. This is a part of 1512 c 2, which is being reviewed by the SCOTUS. If overturned, Tim will be exonerated and the felony will be removed from his record
Tim spent nearly 3 years in jail. For one year, he spent 23 hours a day in solitary confinement in the D.C. jail.

Other Stuff
Why would you run for Congress with this skeleton in your closet? Haven’t you heard of “opposition research”, Mike? Ugh. (I really like Mike Lynch. I think he's a solid and principled state legislator. But if you run for Congress you have to know that everything you've ever done wrong will be exposed. So you better not have any skeletons that would disqualify you and significantly embarrass you.) This makes me sad.
