Just One Thing: CO Supreme Court rules Trump ineligible for CO ballot(s)
I have to say that even knowing how partisan and basically corrupt our Colorado State Supreme Court is, I was surprised to see that they, by a 4-3 vote, ruled that former President Donald Trump is ineligible to be on the ballot in our state. They ruled that the lower court just was correct to say that Trump engaged in insurrection, which is debatable, to say the least, and that the lower court was incorrect to say that the relevant provision of the 14th Amendment doesn’t apply to the president. Dissenting judges argued among other things that Colorado courts do not have the authority to determine 14th Amendment disqualification and that the plaintiffs’ claim should not be allowed for other reasons. This will go to the federal Supreme Court for a ruling that will likely be more interesting than important.
We will discuss with guest Josh Blackman (see below in Today's Guests section)

One More Thing: Biden's catastrophic border failure
Texas has passed a law called SB 4 that makes it a state crime to enter the state as an illegal alien. A lawsuit challenging the new law was filed immediately and SB 4 will likely be found unconstitutional. But that’s not the most important thing. The most important thing is that the Biden administration has failed this nation so comprehensively that a border state, even if one run by Republicans, feels compelled to take such a drastic step.
The Biden administration does not help themselves with press secretary and diversity hire Karine Jean-Pierre’s statement that the purpose of the law is to demonize and dehumanize immigrants. This is such blithering nonsense that even Democrats don’t believe her.
Our southern border represents a catastrophic failure of our president and that alone is enough to justify his losing in 2024.

Can someone please tell me why it's so particularly important for members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus to be center-stage in conversations about border policy? I mean, they don't represent the illegal aliens, right? They represent American citizens. And plenty of Hispanic citizens are also upset at what's going on at the border.

There are quite a few headlines like this one that are misleading: New York could soon force Chick-Fil-A to open on Sundays - a first in its 56-year history (msn.com) The proposed bill is ONLY about locations that are at highway rest stops. It's not insane to argue that a restaurant in those locations needs to be open on what is typically the busiest travel day for long highway journeys.
