Just One Thing: Penn president is out
I thought she'd go on Friday...turns out it was Saturday.
Over the weekend, the president of the University of Pennsylvania resigned after a horrific Congressional hearing in which she argued that whether calling for the genocide of Jews on campus would violate the school’s harassment and bullying policy would be a matter of context. To be clear, the presidents of Harvard and MIT, both also women, gave the same answers but Ms Magill of Penn got the most attention. Some folks are arguing that calling for genocide should be protected speech. I actually understand that but how do you draw the line between that and a threat, which is not protected? If I called for death to all green people without referencing a particular one and a green person is nearby, would he not rationally take that as a threat? These are not easy questions.
The chairman of the Penn Board of Trustees also resigned...I appreciate someone willing to take responsibility for his failures.

ADM James Stavridis, the former NATO Supreme Allied Commander, joins us for a quick conversation about the tension between Guyana and Venezuela. This is a story that most other radio shows probably won't cover and you might not see on TV news either, at least not unless a war breaks out. But this is in our hemisphere and could potentially involve the US (and Brazil and maybe the UK, lining up against Cuba and maybe Russia) if it gets ugly and I want to make sure you know about it:

Trump leads Biden slightly in new WSJ poll while Haley crushes Biden. If Republicans cared about winning, they'd abandon Trump. Joe Biden is the worst president of my lifetime and his ratings show that I'm not the only person who feels that way. But Trump is also a disaster and has done nothing but cause Republican losses, including his own, since his fluke victory over the Dems' worst candidate in at least a generation. 2024 isn't just about winning the White House although that's obviously very important. It's also about getting enough GOP wins in Congress to actually pass bills that improve our country. But, at this time, GOP voters seem to be sticking with Trump and setting up the country for a rematch that most of the nation doesn't want.
(It's interesting how far through this article you have to go to find out how much stronger Haley is against Biden than Trump is.)

Sheila Jackson Lee has long had a reputation as being the meanest person and worst boss in Congress, even worse than Sen Amy Klobuchar. So glad the voters of Houston (finally) rejected her in her attempt to become mayor. Guess she thought she was Karen Bass.
