The Tik-Tok Threat: Young stupid Americans flocking to Osama bin Laden's message

How Osama bin Laden’s ‘Letter to America’ reached millions online (msn.com)

Lots of ignorant young people including apparently a disproportionate percentage of African-Americans are posting videos on TikTok talking about how their reading Osama bin Laden's "Letter to America" has changed their views of the US, Israel, etc. You can see a compilation of them below, along with some of my thoughts.

Just One Thing: Dems' latest property tax lie

There is no lie Democrats won’t tell in order to offer little to no relief to Coloradans whose property taxes will increase by 30%, 40%, 50%, even 70% in just two years. They lied to you with Prop HH but we figured it out and demolished it. Now, because Governor Polis included mention of TABOR in his executive order calling a special session of the legislature to enact property tax relief, they’re just going to steal tabor refunds again and tell us voters to go screw ourselves. The new lie will be “we can’t cut property taxes because it will hurt rural areas where values didn’t go up very much.” Well, then, be creative and figure out a way that doesn’t cause that problem. It’s not hard. But they won’t because they want ALL the money and Jared won’t publicly shame them.

One More Thing: He's got to go

The House Ethics Committee (chaired by a Republican) issued a truly devastating (but not surprising) report about fraudster, con-man, and congenital liar George Santos, though that probably isn't actually his name.

It includes, among many other things, direct transfers of campaign contributions to his personal checking account and stuff like "funds were used to, among other things: pay down personal credit card bills and other debt; make a $4,127.80 purchase at Hermes; and for smaller purchases at OnlyFans; Sephora; and for meals and for parking." Oh, come on, now, he can't even spend a little donor money on OnlyFans?

Seriously, read this: How George Santos allegedly spent his campaign funds: Botox, OnlyFans, Ferragamo and more (nbcnews.com)

I know the GOP is in a terrible position with a tiny majority due to the ongoing negative reaction by voters to Donald Trump's GOP. What should have been a red wave was a red trickle, and Santos drifted in with it like a bloated dead fish floating in the oily foam. But Santos simply must be expelled.

The Constitution requires an election to fill the seat and NY state law says there will be a special election as long as the vacancy happens before July. Hard to know whether a Republican or a Dem would win the seat but one would think that the wind is slightly in the GOP's favor right now.

But it doesn't matter. George Santos is every bit as much a stain on Congress as Rashida Tlaib is. OK, almost as much. And he, like she, has to go at the earliest possible opportunity. That opportunity will come earlier for him than for her.

Chip Roy is right but there also isn't a lot that can be done with a narrow GOP majority that includes moderate Republicans who represent districts Biden won and who therefore will not support the kinds of cuts to government that really must be done. (By the way, Trump won't support them either.)
