Just One Thing: 303 Creative ruling from Supreme Court later this week

Later this week we should get the Supreme Court ruling in a case called 303 Creative. It’s a case from Colorado in which web site designer Lori Smith, a devout Christian, is suing pre-emptively in order to not be forced to make custom web sites for gay weddings if and when she starts making custom web sites for traditional weddings. That said, this case is NOT about LGBT rights. And while it should be about First Amendment religious freedom, it’s actually being adjudicated as a free speech case: can you force an artist to express something they disagree with? Even though I'm not Christian, not religious, and I favor gay marriage, I think it’s a travesty that she, or Jack Phillips (of Masterpiece Cake Shop), could ever lose a case, but they have. It’s time for the Supreme Court to end this lunacy and state clearly that the First Amendment is First for a reason.

Today's Guests

Bret Baier is the Chief Political Anchor for Fox News Channel and the Anchor and Executive Editor of Special Report with Bret Baier. His recent interview of former President Donald Trump was not just skillful and interesting; it was the rare interview that was important. Probably more important than Trump's lawyers would have preferred. We'll talk with Bret about preparing for that challenging conversation.

Bret is also the author of several excellent histories; you can check them all out here: https://www.amazon.com/stores/author/B00IHSE4CM/allbooks

I had a chance to hang out with Bret when he came to speak at the Leadership Program of the Rockies and one thing I learned is that he donates all the money he gets from speaking fees to non-profits that research pediatric heart issues.

I used to have one of these but I didn't feed him enough to get huge. They are called "pigs" for a reason. They'll eat almost everything you give them. After I sold "Reuben" (named for Peter Paul Reubens) to a fat banker from New Orleans, I heard that the guy gave the pig almost unlimited food and the pig got enormous. Maybe more enormous than the banker.
