A Coffin or a Casket

When I was discussing the memorial services for Queen Elizabeth in Scotland the other day, I mentioned her coffin. A listener texted in to ask whether I meant casket, and if maybe I could clarify the difference. In fact, I didn’t know the difference. Turns out I was right using the term coffin in the Queen’s case, but I was right by accident. A coffin is an older style of burial container that has six sides, because the long sides are actually two sides each with the overall shape being tapered roughly from the shoulders upward and downward. A casket is a rectangle, so has four sides. If you look closely, you’ll see the queen going to her final resting place in a coffin, continuing hundreds of years of tradition.

Just One Thing

My blood pressure has come down a bit since that terrible Broncos performance. The team has talent. Most mistakes are fixable with practice and coaching. And the coach should learn from his mistakes. Just hope we don't miss the playoffs by one game and look back at this one. Russell Wilson definitely did his job and did not leave me questioning the wisdom of trading for him and paying him big money. AND, with both the good and the bad we must remember that it's just one game.
