Just One Thing

Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy has (or will soon have) all charges against him dropped from his recent arrest. We had Arapahoe County Sheriff Tyler Brown on the show recently who explained that since Jeudy's argument was with a woman with whom he had a child, there's an automatic domestic violence enhancer and an automatic arrest. That seems to me as the sort of thing passed by virtue-signaling legislators, perhaps in the aftermath of a situation where an arrest wasn't made and something bad happened. Still, while the sheriff's deputies had no choice in the matter, the arrest was stupid in the sense that it's not a situation where there should be an arrest. I trust that legislators will not revisit the issue because they'll be too afraid of what might go wrong in the future even if fixing this law would save a lot of other injustice. Anyway, I'm glad these charges were dropped and I don't think it happened because the guy is a Broncos player. I think it happened because the DA knows the arrest was already a massive waste of taxpayer money and law enforcement resources and he doesn't want to compound the madness.

Steve Fenberg (D-Boulder) is president of the Colorado State Senate. We'll talk about a bill he sponsored that was just signed into law:

Colorado becomes the first state to ban anonymous donations of sperm and eggs. I think the issue is more about being able to understand one's genetic/health history rather than just being able to satisfy curiosity.

Have you heard of the Borda Ranch Sheep drive in Nevada? Me neither, but wow that's a lot of wool...

And they do an excellent job merging. I hope my teenager who's going to start driving soon is that good at merging.
