Tues Blogcast: Ross & the Rabbi; Stupid SOB; Special interests in Congress

Today's Guests

Attorney Chris Horner (who spent 20 years with the Competitive Enterprise Institute) is representing a group called Government Accountability and Oversight and Virginia radio host Rob Schilling in a lawsuit against Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Clerk and Chief Administrator of the House of Representatives. The lawsuit involves Congress refusing to produce documents about the use, in Democratic congressional offices (though the question would apply if Republicans were doing this too but there's no evidence of that yet) of staff "donated" by far-left (usually enviro-radical) special interests. Here's a link to the filed lawsuit: ASFILED Schilling v Speaker et al. DRAFT complaint 510 pm.docx (govoversight.org)

In other words, some rabid enviro group wants a member of Congress who shares their views a staffer or a few staffers who do things like "investigate" oil companies in the furtherance of the leftists' anti-fossil-fuel nuttery.

This is NOT OK. They know it's not OK so they're hiding it. By the way, the left was caught doing the same thing (and I think they still do in some spots) in state attorneys general offices and on some governors' staff. This needs the bright sunshine of political daylight shone on it; it is, as they say, the best disinfectant even in a cesspool like Congress.

Rabbi Raphael Leban is the managing director of The Jewish Experience in Denver. We're going to cover a few topics, some more intense than others: What does what happened in Colleyville say about anti-Semitism? What's up with the Hebrew calendar this year? And two Jews, three opinions.

I always enjoy celebrating young people finding a life path that goes through serving in the US military, and as the son of two US Navy officers of course I have a bit of a bias toward "Go Navy!". Looking forward to our conversation with Navy officer candidate Madeline Flom who is from Denver, attended D'Evelyn High School and is soon to graduate from the grueling 13-week OCS with a view toward going into the Navy's Information Warfare program.

Stoopid son of a bitch

Everyone's reporting on Joe Biden's comments about Fox News' White House Correspondent Peter Doocy. Few people are noting that Biden had just complained about reporters asking questions that were "off-topic" so as they were walking out Doocy shouted a question that was on the topic at hand (inflation.) And few people are noting that Doocy later reported that Biden called him to "clear the air." All the relevant video is below. I don't think it's a significant incident at all but on the margin every time Biden erodes his own reputation as a guy who is easy-going and easy to get along with, it is just one more weakness for him if he runs again and for other Democrats who have to run in 2022.

Today's Videos

Last night, one of my kids asked me to watch the 2018 movie "Mortal Engines" with him. It was entertaining enough, sort of a blend of Transformers and Star Wars in a Steampunk dystopian future. The special effects were excellent...not surprising since Peter Jackson of Lord of the Rings fame was one of the producers. Anyway, it had a couple of particularly amusing lines and this was one of them...good for a chuckle on a Tuesday.

And the next two videos relate to the Biden/Doocy "stupid son-of-a-bitch" hubbub which is not really important but is amusing.
