THE IMPACT OF MILE HIGH STADIUM ON LOCAL BUSINESS This article about cities with vibrant local business communities adjacent to their stadiums is interesting. From Denver 7:
GoDaddy's Small Business Research Lab ranked Denver as one of the top cities in the country where stadium-adjacent communities are thriving.
"Denver is not necessarily in the top five largest cities, but it is number five when it comes to entrepreneurship and how many small businesses there are. So that's pretty exciting because it shows entrepreneurship is alive and strong and thriving in the area," Alexandra Rosen, global head for the GoDaddy Small Business Research Lab, said.
The top five cities in the GoDaddy Entrepreneurial Power Rankings in order were Miami, Las Vegas, Inglewood, Glendale, and then Denver. Rosen said entrepreneurship is thriving in the Mile High City, with there being excitement before, during, and after the game.
Note that most of these are NOT in cities with a Jerry World model, where team ownership snaps up all the surrounding land to make an entertainment district. We are about to get that with Burnham Yards, I'm guessing, so what does that mean for these local businesses? According to the article, a loss on some Sundays but not much more.

Now we know that the man who was arrested outside Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh's house with a plan and weapons to assassinate him identifies as a she. We also know that suicidal ideation and attempts are much, much higher among trans people. In that article I just linked, they say it's because of a lack of acceptance in their new body, but what if it isn't? What if this is all a huge, horrible mental health crisis and we're telling people they can just change gender and everything will be okay when it clearly won't be? We are doing these people a serious disservice. A dangerous, horrible disservice.
THE UNION LOVES TO GIN UP TROUBLE AT CASA BONITA And the latest kerfuffle is over a cut on hours for some of the character actors who play the classic Casa Bonita characters like Black Bart and Captain Isabella. The union is screaming that the workers are being fired and Casa Bonita says it is a short term reduction for their first Halloween pop up event. The real issue is that the unions says the restaurant won't negotiate with them. I wonder if this has staunch liberals (I can only guess from their treatment of most conservatives on South Park) looking at unions in a different light? I sure hope they skewer them in an upcoming episode.

YOUNG PEOPLE ARE APPROACHING MARRIAGE WRONG This article says that nowadays young people aren't getting married and working towards financial stability, they are looking for financial stability BEFORE getting married. That is ass backwards but not without some merits. The key is to find someone you love with the same sort of drive and goals, come up with a plan to move forward, get married and do it. In my view the key is not that both sides have finances figured out before they marry, but that both sides are on the SAME PAGE when they get married. Those conversations must be had before you get married. MUST.
