THIS IS WHY THE BOARD OF EDUCATION RACE MATTERED For a year parents have been pushing back against parts of a Social Studies curriculum change that has been underway as required by law. For a year parents have been asking that sexual and gender identity not be taught to little children via social studies. Lots of revisions were made and it seemed those changes satisfied everyone enough so they could be passed and put into effect. At least they seemed to be. After the election, the Democrat controlled Board of Education scrapped all of the changes made over the last year and reinstituted the troublesome standards that had led to a record number of comments on such things and passed them into rule. Pam Benigno writes about it here. This is why elections matter, this is why you can't rest for a second if your kids are in public schools and you have to demand to see curriculum at all turns. Or put your kids in private schools.
THE KIDS ARE NOT ALRIGHT We have a very robust kid crime problem. We've seen as of late young teens shoot each other, burn down a property and kill two people, and now shove a woman out of a train car. What is happening to our kids that makes them think this is all okay? What have we done to them by shutting down schools so they get even more hopelessly behind (I'm making assumptions but you don't often see straight A students behaving this way)? Why do these children have no sense of right or wrong or care what the difference between those things is?
PREGNANCY CENTER RETURNS DONATION TO DEMOCRAT HORRIFIED THEY TRY TO SAVE BABIES And this story of a Pueblo pregnancy center returning a donation to a lawmaker who was horrified to find out they weren't an abortion clinic instead demonstrates the ghoulish position Democrats have put themselves in on abortion. Safe, legal and rare has been replaced with "KILL THEM ALL with no exceptions". It is nice that many people have sent 50 dollar donations to the center so they could return his measly 50 bucks without suffering. Read this to get a real feel for the politically expedient way this guy tried to use this center to help his wife get elected before he protested outside their doors:
Axworthy previously told Complete Colorado Hinrichsen and his wife, former State Rep. Bri Buentello, used her to gain support from Republicans for her campaign as a “prolife” Democrat in 2018.
“She was trying to appeal to moderate conservatives,” Axworthy said, adding they were not close friends but would spend time together on occasion. “I introduced her to a bunch of people.”
It was around that time that ACPC hosted the “Walk for Life” to raise money for the center. It was a peer-to-peer fundraiser, so participants solicited money from family and personal friends, including Hinrichsen, who donated to Axworthy.
Hinrichsen, who was appointed to the Senate District 3 seat in February 2022 to replace Leroy Garcia, after Garcia took a position at the Pentagon, was on record in this election saying men shouldn’t have an opinion on the medical decisions women make regarding their own bodies, and he has pledged to support continuing access to abortion if elected. He most recently took part in a protest at ACPC.
So not only is he pro-abortion, he's ANTI-CHOICE. That's what I must conclude from his new position protesting a place that provide an alternative to killing a baby. That's where the Democratic party is now.
WHY DOES DENVER NEED A WHITE MALE MAYOR? That is the question asked in apparent seriousness by 9News's Marshall Zelinger. No one can find where he asked Jared Polis why Colorado needed a white male Governor when he was running against a woman. Or John Hickenlooper, or any other white dude.

DPS CHICKENS OUT ON SCHOOL CLOSURES After parent showed up and verbally rioted at recent meetings. After chastising the process that they themselves put into action, the board shot down the recommendation to close just two schools after initially there were supposed to be five closed in total. The Board said the process didn't give enough notice to parents and didn't take into account their input so they want to continue "conversations" while none of the underlying issues will change. AL ROKER IS RECOVERING FROM BLOOD CLOTS AND EVERYONE IS ASKING ABOUT VACCINE STATUS There has been an increase in cardiac events since the beginning of covid. Heart attacks went up dramatically in the first year, well before there was a vaccine. They continued to go up AFTER the vaccine as well, but we simply don't have enough evidence to say the vaccine made it worse. Yet. Read this for more on that. All that being said, there is no doubt in my mind that covid itself creates issues like heart attacks and stroke and blood clots, as too many people are being struck with this sort of stuff during this pandemic. Now we know popular weatherman Al Roker is one of those diagnosed with blood clots he's now being treated for and the internet is ready to blame the vaccine, when they maybe should be blaming covid instead. We are still really early in knowing a lot about this virus and with the politicization of it and the vaccine, it's gotten even harder to do the kind of science we need done.
WHY DID THE DOJ LIE ABOUT PAUL PELOSI'S ATTACK? This is how conspiracy theories catch fire. The attack on Paul Pelosi was awful and it should be a pretty straightforward narrative about how it went down, but the DoJ muddied the waters by selling a story that was not right. And because there is body cam footage, we know it was wrong. Rather than come out correct the record, the DoJ is silent on why they have wrong information in the federal charges they filed against the perpetrator. Watch the story here, and note that an NBC News reporter named Miguel Almaguer was suspended for reporting the EXACT SAME THING. To be clear, I am not suggesting any malfeasance by the 82 year old Paul Pelosi, as he may have been confused, terrified, etc because he'd been woken out of a deep sleep so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt for now. THERE WILL BE NO BEER AT WORLD CUP MATCHES! As the World Cup decided to go to a Muslim nation where public consumption of booze is banned, I'm not sure how anyone is surprised. Budweiser seemed to be when they tweeted out "Well this is awkward" before deleting the tweet. To be clear, there ARE places you can drink beer, but you can't at any of the matches. This should go over well with soccer hooligans.
EVANGELICALS JUMP OFF THE TRUMP TRAIN His announcement, which I think he thought would clear the field for him, is having the opposite effect. Story after story of now former Trump supporters either announcing they are staying on the sidelines or signaling in some way that they are looking at another candidate this year was probably not what he expected. Heh. Now evangelicals who got their respective flocks to vote en masse for the character-challenged man are saying no thank you to more of the same.
Another onetime faith adviser to Trump, James Robison of Life Outreach International, said in a speech this week that Trump’s ego is getting in the way of the agenda.
“If Mr. Trump can’t stop his little petty issues, how does he expect people to stop major issues?” Robison said, according to The Washington Post.
He said he told Trump: “Sir, you act like a little elementary schoolchild and you shoot yourself in the foot every morning you get up and open your mouth! The more you keep your mouth closed, the more successful you’re gonna be!”
He's not wrong.
IS HONEY A SUPERFOOD? It sort of seems like it from this study from the University of Toronto. Researchers found this:
Study authors conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of clinical trials involving honey. That process led researchers to observe that consuming honey lowers fasting blood glucose, total and LDL or “bad” cholesterol, triglycerides, and a marker of fatty liver disease. Additionally, honey also appears to promote increased levels of HDL or “good” cholesterol, and some markers of inflammation.
The honey needs to be raw and single sourced if possible, which is available all over Colorado.

After campaigning on the issue of holding Saudi Arabia accountable for the death of journalist Jamal Khashogi, now the Biden admin has done the opposite, working to shield Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince from a lawsuit filed by Khashogi's longtime fiance about his death. The administration said the senior position of the crown prince, Saudi Arabia’s de facto ruler and recently named prime minister as well, should shield him against a suit brought by the fiancée of slain Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi and by the rights group Khashoggi founded, Democracy for the Arab World Now.

According to Variety, on Tuesday, Licht held a town-hall meeting where he told employees he “felt on-camera drinking eroded the credibility of CNN personnel and damaged the ‘respectability’ they may enjoy among viewers.” Apparently, Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen will still be allowed to consume alcohol on the primetime Times Square broadcast, but everyone else will have to sober up for the night.
