Mandy's Wed Blog: Father Mike Tess is on To Talk the Reason for the Season

FATHER MIKE TESS IS ON TO TALK CHRISTMAS He's my personal Episcopal priest and one of my favorite people. We are going to talk about Christmas at 1, the reason for the season and how perhaps the season has you down because you've forgotten why we do all this in the first place. Find Saint Mark's Episcopal Church stream for his services here as he's in Wisconsin.

THE BOOK OF QUESTIONS IS TODAY AT 2 And remember you can buy this book as a gift yourself. Find it here.

CHRISTMAS CAROLS ON DECK TODAY What are you favorites and why? I've dropped some below that I love.

SO WHAT IF AURORA IS USING 10% OF ITS COVID FUNDS ON COPS? I'm thoroughly annoyed by this article from the Denver Gazette about the Aurora City Council voting to give cops bonuses. I should say a majority of the city council voted to do so, with four anti-cop, pro violent mob left wingers acting upset that their new board members are actually prioritizing public safety in an era of skyrocketing crime and massive police exodus at the same time. THE NERVE. I'm annoyed at the Gazette as the column focuses on the whining by the anti-cop, pro-violent mob portion of the council. These people need to get over themselves and realize elections have consequences and they are no longer in charge. And hopefully the people of Aurora will begin to feel a bit safer soon.

TAY TAY WANTS HIS POUND OF FLESH BEFORE HE CAN ACT LIKE AN ADULT That seems to be the takeaway from this column about the greater level of dysfunction at Denver Public Schools Board's first retreat meeting. After declining to make the meeting public so these adults would have a "safe space" from which to make policy decisions for YOUR children, they were forced to release part of the meeting where Tay Anderson, the new VP of the Board, whined about the big meanies who voted to censure him for being a creepy stalker to two teenage girls. Anderson said:

“I am (still) struggling…to work with some people at this table, based off of the last year that I’ve had…we still have people at this table that do not feel safe with folks at this table, and do not feel as we have addressed devastating harm that has been caused at this table.”

Who gives a crap, Tay? Grow up, don't stalk teenage girls and do your job. This is why you don't elect children to important jobs, they don't know how to get over themselves and work. What a loser this guy is and DPS keeps electing and elevating him so they don't get called racists. Shame.

BE BRAVE AND DON'T BE AFRAID TO SPEAK THE TRUTH A woman named Abigail Shrier wrote a book about transgender contagion that is taking hold with teen girls, who then begin physical transitions and hormone treatments that can leave permanent harm that can't be fully reversed. She researched it and published “Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters,” and immediately became a pariah. The ACLU has argued that her book should be banned. She recently gave a speech at a college campus that everyone should read. It's a call to rhetorical battle and bravery and she is 100% right on all of it. We have to get brave NOW or the craziness will be forever. Read it here.

THE CONCERTED EFFORT TO DISCREDIT THE NON BELIEVERS BY FAUCI AND FRIENDS The Great Barrington Declaration was a document signed by a LOT of scientists and other eggheads that pushed back against the notion of lockdowns early in the pandemic. It never said to "let it rip" even if the media attacked the authors as saying just that. Now we know for SURE that Fauci and the head of the NIH Dr. Francis Collins actively conspired to discredit the authors from the get go. Read it here, but Fauci needs to go NOW. He's completely compromised his scientific integrity, if he ever had any in the first place.

HISPANIC VOTERS ARE MOVING TOWARDS REPUBLICANS And this column about three areas where Republicans stand to gain Hispanic support, or more accurately, where the Dems are losing Hispanic support: eduction, crime and the economy. Oddly, the use of the word LatinX is not at the top of Hispanic voters priorities.

A PROFESSOR BOUGHT AND PAID FOR BY CHINA HAS BEEN CONVICTED OF HIDING THOSE TIES And this guy is no slacker, he's a professor at Harvard! From the AP story on Charles Lieber:

Charles Lieber, 62, the former chair of Harvard’s department of chemistry and chemical biology, had pleaded not guilty to two counts of filing false tax returns, two counts of making false statements, and two counts of failing to file reports for a foreign bank account in China.

The really rich part is where a bunch of academics are mad the US government is targeting professors who have been taking money from China. They say it hurts academic freedom. No, it hurts Chinese attempts to spread good will about the authoritarian regime, period.
