Sometimes the guy between the pipes simply has to dominate.
That's exactly what Colorado Avalanche goalie Darcy Kuemper did on Saturday night in the Avs 2-1 shootout win over the Edmonton Oilers. It was the Avs sixth consecutive win.
Kuemper stopped 49 of the 50 shots he faced, including all three Edmonton attempts in the shootout.
Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon was able to score in the shootout to give the Avs the win.
The game was 0-0 heading to the third period. Warren Foegele gave the Oilers a 1-0 lead with a goal at 5:24. MacKinnon tied it with a goal at 14:53.
