Avs Fall To Wild In OT, 3-2

It was a grinder. There was a fight. There was a questionable penalty.

There was a Minnesota Wild win.

Minnesota forward Kevin Fiala scored a power play goal 15 seconds into overtime to give the Wild the 3-2 victory and the extra point.

The power play was set up with 26 seconds left in the third period when Avs defenseman was given a two-minute penalty for cross-checking Minnesota forward Tyson Jost, whom the Avs traded to the Wild before the deadline last week.

After the game, Avs forwards Mikko Rantanen and Nico Sturm, and head coach Jared Bednar, would not comment on Johnson's penalty. But clearly all three believed it was a bad call.

Nazem Kadri and Rantanen each scored a goal in the second period to give the Avs a 2-1 lead.

The game featured a fight between Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon and Minnesota defenseman Matt Dumba after Dumba delievered a big hit to Rantanen.
