The 6th-seeded Colorado State Rams built an early lead but could not hold on in a 75-63 loss to the Michigan Wolverines on Thursday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament South Regional at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The Rams were hot from the outside early and led 28-13 after Dischon Thomas hit a three-pointer with 5:10 left in the first half.
Michigan, the 11 seed, responded with five straight points from freshman Frankie Collins and the Wolverines had the deficit down to 36-29 at halftime.
It was all Michigan in the second half. The Wolverines outscored the Rams 46-27 after intermission.
Thomas led CSU with 15 points and was 5-7 from long distance. David Roddy added 13 points and six rebounds.
The Rams season ends with a 25-6 record.
