Usually, it's the Colorado Avalanche that finds a way to come back to win.
Tuesday night, the New Jersey Devils turned the tables on the Avs and rallied for a 5-3 win.
The Avalanche built a 3-0 on the strength of goals by Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen and Cale Makar.
Makar's goal came at 5:52 of the second period.
But then the Devils came back. New Jersey scored three goals in an 8:01 span and it was 3-3 at the second intermission.
The Devils added two goals in the second half of the third period to get the win.
The Avs close out their three-game road trip against the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday, March 10 at 5 p.m. MST.
Postgame comments from (in order) Avs forward Mikko Rantanen, goalie Darcy Kuemper and head coach Jared Bednar.
