Third Period Rally Gives Avs A 3-2 Win At Vegas

What happens in Vegas has been happening everywhere, all year for the Colorado Avalanche.

The Avs scored two quick goals early in the third period to rally past the Vegas Golden Knights, 3-2, at T-Mobile Arena.

J.T. Compher tied the game with a goal at 5:40 of the third and then Nathan MacKinnon gave the Avs a 3-2 lead just 26 seconds later.

The Avalanche has now scored 79 goals in the third period and has nine third period comebacks.

Goalie Darcy Kuemper made those two goals stand up. He recorded 34 saves and beat the Golden Knights on the road for the second time in 10 days.

Andre Burakovsky had the Avs other goal. It came in the first period and kept the Avs within 2-1 at the first intermission. Kuemper and the Avalanche were able to weather the storm in the first period. After he gave up two goals in the first 8-and-a-half minutes, Kuemper settled in and the Avs were able to get the offense going.
