Alex Newhook's goal at 8:37 of the third period broke a 3-3 tie and the Colorado Avalanche went on to defeat the Buffalo Sabres, 5-3, on Saturday.
Newhook was one of five different Avalanche players to score a goal. Mikko Rantanen, Nathan MacKinnon, J.T. Compher and Nazem Kadro also put the puck in the back of the net.
After Buffalo's Tage Thompson opened the scoring in the first three minutes of the game, the Avs got goals from MacKinnon, Compher and Kadri to lead 3-2 at the first intermission.
Thompson scored his second of the game in the second period to tie the score at three.
MacKinnon and Rantanen each had an assist, as did Nicolas Aube-Kubel and Nichushkin.
The Avs are unbeaten in their last nine road games (8-0-1).
Colorado will play at Boston on Monday, February 21 at 11 a.m. MST.
