There is something to be said for finishing strong.
That is exactly what the Colorado Buffaloes did Sunday in a 66-43 win over the Washington Huskies at the CU Events Center.
The game was tied 23-23 at halftime and then the Buffs took control.
After outscoring Washington 20-13 in the third quarter, CU put the game away by dominating the fourth, 23-7.
Colorado shot a sizzling 18-of-31 (58.0%) in the second half. Senior Mya Hollingshed led the way with 20 points. Quay Miller, a former Huskie, added 18 points off the bench on 7-11 from the floor.
The Buffs needed the win. They had lost five of their previous six games entering the contest.
The Buffs now head to the Bay Area for a two-game road trip starting against the California Golden Bears on Friday, February 11. Coverage starts at 7:30 p.m. MST on 630 KHOW.
Postgame comments from CU head coach J.R. Payne, forward Mya Hollingshed (first player to speak) and guard Quay Miller.
