Nuggets Get Road Win Over Thunder, 99-95

The Denver Nuggets count on center and reigning MVP Nikola Jokic to do a lot every night.

And he usually does.

But Sunday night, other chipped in and helped the Nuggets get a 99-95 road win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Austin Rivers scored a season-high 22 points despite playing with a hand injury that should have him sitting out.

Jokic did his part with 22 points and 18 rebounds.

Denver raced out to a 22-4 lead in the opening half of the first quarter.

After leading by 12 points at halftime, the Nuggets saw the Thunder continue to chip away at the deficit and eventually OKC took a 75-74 lead late in the third quarter.

But down the stretch, the Nuggets were able to hang on. Will Barton's two free throws with 12.6 second remaining made it a four-point game and secured the win.

The Nuggets take on the Clippers in Los Angeles on Tuesday, January 11 at 8:30 p.m. MST.
