The Colorado Buffaloes did what they had to do.
And that was good enough to pick up a 65-54 home win over the Milwaukee Panthers Friday night.
After Milwaukee's 18-7 run enabled the Panthers to erase a nine-point deficit in the second half, the Buffs got serious.
CU went on a 12-0 run and held Milwaukee without a point for 4:38 late in the game and the Buffs went from down 51-50 to up 62-51 before the Panthers scored with 42 seconds remaining.
Evan Battey led CU with 15 points on 6-8 from the field and he added five rebounds. He was one of three BUffs to score in double figures.
Colorado is now 8-3 and hosts CSU Bakersfield on Saturday, December 18. Coverage starts at 11:30 a.m. MST on KOA 850 AM and 94.1 FM.
Postgame comments from CU guards Luke O'Brien and Elijah Parquet, forward Jabari Walker and head coach Tad Boyle.
