KOA Broncos Insider Benjamin Allbright reports that former Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas has died at the age of 33. Thomas would have turned 34 years old on Christmas Day.
Allbright reports that Thomas passed from complications from a car accident in 2019.
Thomas played for the Broncos from 2010-2018 after the team selected him in the first round (22nd overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft out of Georgia Tech University.
The Broncos traded Thomas to the Houston Texans halfway through the 2018 season.
Thomas' last NFL action was with the New York Jets in 2019. He played in 11 games with New York that season.
Thomas retired from the league as a Bronco in late June of 2021.
He finished his 10-year career with 774 receptions for 9,763 yards and 63 touchdowns. He was a part of the Broncos Super Bowl 50 championship team and made the Pro Bowl four times.
His 655 receptions with the Broncos rank him third in franchise history behind Rod Smith and Shannon Sharpe.
