The winning streak was bound to end and it did on Friday night for the Colorado Avalanche.
The Avs fell to the Dallas Stars, 3-1, at American Airlines Center in Dallas.
Stars center Joe Pavelski came out firing and put two early goals past Avalanche goalie Darcy Kuemper. Pavelski scored at 1:12 of the first period and then again at 1:31.
After Denis Gurianov made it 3-0 with a goal in the second, the Avs got their only score of the night off the stick of defenseman Cale Makar at 16:49 of the final period.
Makar extended his goal-scoring streak to five games, the longest by an Avalanche defenseman.
Colorado gets right back on the ice against Nashville on Saturday, November 27. Face-off is set for 7 p.m. MST.
