The Friday MLB trade deadline is rapidly approaching.

Wednesday, the Rockies dealt reliever Mychal Givens to the Cincinnati Reds for a pair of minor league pitchers.

Givens leaves after the Rockies acquired him from the Baltimore Orioles just before the 2020 trade deadline.

The seven-year veteran has appeared in 31 games for the Rockies this season, going 3-2 with a 2.73 ERA in 29-and-two-thirds innings. Givens has allowed 11 runs, nine earned, on 25 hits with 14 walks and 34 strikeouts.

The Rockies reportedly receive RHP Case Williams from the Reds. Williams was the Rockies 2020 fourth round draft pick out of Douglas County High School, who went to Cincinnati with RHP Jeff Hoffman in the offseason deal that brought the Rockies reliever Robert Stephenson and minor league outfielder Jameson Hannah.

The Rockies also get RHP Noah Davis from the Reds. MLB Pipeline ranked Williams as the Reds No. 20 prospect and Davis as No. 26.

The MLB trade deadline is Friday, July 30 at 2 p.m. MDT.

Mark Feinsand of the MLB.com was the first to report the Givens deal.
