It was anything but easy.
But then again, the Colorado Avalanche figured things would be more difficult than they were game one against the Vegas Golden Knights.
Mikko Rantanen's goal at 2:07 of overtime gave the Avs a 3-2 win and a 2-0 series lead.
Avs goalie Philipp Grubauer was tremendous, stopping 39 shots, including several spectacular saves in the third period and overtime.
Brandon Saad and Tyson Jost each scored a goal in the first period to give the Avs a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes.
Reilly Smith tied the game with a goal for Vegas midway through the second period.
The series now shifts to Las Vegas. Game three is set for Friday, June 4 at 8 p.m. mountain time.
