At long last, some things came together for the Denver Broncos.
They did a lot right in all phases in a 20-13 win over the Miami Dolphins Sunday at Empower Field at Mile High.
The Broncos rolled up 459 yards of total offense, 189 on the ground. They forced two turnovers and recorded six sacks. They controlled the Dolphins dangerous special teams unit and controlled field position with punter Sam Martin.
For all they did right, the Broncos got off to a shaky start.
Drew Lock threw an interception on the Broncos first series and the Dolphins turned that into a 17-yard scoring drive and a three-yard touchdown pass from Tua Tagovailoa to Devante Parker.
But the Broncos tied the game with an 11-play, 73-yard drive capped by Melvin Gordon's one-yard touchdown run with 1:34 left in the first quarter.
Denver's lead was 13-10 at halftime and the Broncos increased it to 20-10 with an impressive nine-play, 81 yard scoring march in the third quarter. Gordon rushed in from 20 yards out to give the Broncos control of the game.
The Broncos snap their two-game losing streak and put an end to the Dolphins five-game winning streak.
