German Marquez made sure the Colorado Rockies losing streak would not reach five games.
Marquez was brilliant in throwing eight scoreless innings in Tuesday's 5-0 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park.
He gave up only three hits, walked just one batter and struck out seven.
The Rockies gave Marquez more than enough offensive support. Shortstop Trevor Story hit his 11th home run of the season (and 99th career homer) in the third.
An inning later, Charlie Blackmon made it 4-0 with a two-run triple. Marquez tacked on a final run with an RBI single in the eighth.
