For the second straight week, the Denver Broncos made plays.
Big plays.
And for the second straight week, they beat a quality opponent because of it.
Thanks to a defense that forced four turnovers and a career-high 110 yards rushing from running back Phillip Lindsay, the Denver Broncos defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers, 24-17, Sunday at Broncos Stadium at Mile High.
The Broncos recovered two fumbles and intercepted two passes to help take the sting out of the Steelers' offense that rolled up 527 yards of total offense.
Chris Harris Jr.'s interception in the third quarter eventually set up Case Keenum's five-yard touchdown pass to Emmanuel Sanders that tied the game 17-17 with 5:30 remaining in that quarter.
After the Broncos jumped in front 24-17 on Lindsay's two-yard touchdown run with 9:17 left in the game, defensive lineman Shelby Harris preserved the win.
He intercepted Ben Roethlisberger's pass in the end zone with just over a minute to go.
The Broncos held the Steelers to their second-lowest point total of the season. Pittsburgh fell to Baltimore 26-14 on September 30, its last loss before Sunday's game. The Broncos snapped the Steelers' six-game winning streak.
Denver is 5-6 and plays at Cincinnati on Sunday, Dec. 2. Coverage of that game starts at 7 a.m. MST on KOA NewsRadio 850 AM and 94.1 FM.
