The Denver Broncos played hard and at times they played well.
But in the end the Kansas City Chiefs were just too good and defeated the Broncos, 30-23, Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.
The Broncos jumped up 7-0 on Phillip Lindsay's one-yard touchdown run with 7:40 left in the first quarter.
The Chiefs then reeled off 16 consecutive points before Case Keenum hit Tim Patrick on a 24-yard touchdown pass with five seconds remaining in the second quarter.
The Chiefs scored a pair of third quarter touchdowns to take a 30-14 lead to the fourth. The Broncos nine points were not enough.
At least three times the Broncos had plays of 20 yards or more nullified by a penalty. Denver finished with 10 penalties for 83 yards.
The Broncos are now 3-5 and host the Houston Texans next Sunday, November 4. Coverage starts at 8 a.m. MST on KOA NewsRadio 850 AM and 94.1 FM.
