Tim Tebow Breaks Hand, Likely Out Rest Of Season

Tim Tebow

Tim Tebow takes the field for the Binghampton Rumble Ponies, the Double-A affiliate of the new York Mets earlier this season.

Not many people thought Tim Tebow would be much of a baseball player.

Now, it appears that none of us will get to see if he gets a Major League call-up later this season.

Tebow broke the hammate bone in his right hand and his season is, most likely, over.

He was enjoying a terrific season with the Binghampton Rumble Ponies, the Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets.

In 84 games this year, Tebow is hitting .273 with six homers, 36 RBIs, 14 doubles and a .336 on-base percentage.

The Mets were expected to consider bringing him to the Major Leagues in September.

ESPN's Adam Schefter was the first to report Tebow's injury.

Tebow hit a home run in his first at-bat with Binghampton in early April.
