For much of the season, the Colorado Rockies have had trouble scoring runs in the late innings.
Monday night at Coors Field, late runs were the key in the Rockies' 5-2 comeback win over the San Francisco Giants.
Trailing 2-0 going to the bottom of the seventh inning, the Rockies scored three times. A bases-loaded walk, a double play ball and a key Giants error contributed to the rally.
The Rockies added two more runs in the eighth inning on Tom Murphy's RBI double and Charlie Blackmon's sacrifice fly.
Rockies starter Kyle Freeland turned in another strong outing, going seven innings and allowing two runs on three hits.
Freeland was able to get the better of Giants ace Madison Bumgarner and get the win. Freeland is now 8-6.
