Study: Crashes Increased 15% After Marijuana Was Legalized In Colorado

A new study is linking the legal use of marijuana to an increase in traffic crashes in Colorado. The study from the Rocky Mountain High Intensity Drug Area shows that marijuana-related crashes have increased 15-percent since state voters legalized recreational marijuana. Traffic deaths during the same period have increased 31-percent during the same period. The study also points out that 75-percent of drivers who test positive for marijuana also had alcohol or other drugs in their system when they were stopped.
