This time last year, Brock Osweiler was the hottest NFL free agent around; this year, he's a liability and a salary dump as a part of an unprecedented trade. By dumping Osweiler's contract onto the Cleveland Browns, the Houston Texans have positioned themselves to be the frontrunners for the services of quarterback Tony Romo.
Of course, Osweiler isn't the centerpiece of this trade, but his hefty contract and the second round draft pick are. The Browns could even cut the former Broncos quarterback, sending him back to the free agent pool for a second year in a row.
Houston's signing of Osweiler could go down as one of the priciest blunders in NFL history, for both the Texans, the Browns and Osweiler himself.
