The CU Women's Team Beats Oregon St., 60-45, In Regular Season Finale

The Colorado Buffaloes women's basketball team will head to the Pac-12 Tournament with some wind in its sails.

The Buffs closed out the regular season by defeating the Oregon St. Beavers, 60-45, Saturday at the CU Events Center.

The victory clinched Colorado's fist 20-win season in nine years.

Colorado raced out to a 22-16 lead after one quarter and was up 42-26 at halftime.

The Buffs handled the Beavers on the boards, outrebounding Oregon St. 41-30 and 13-4 on the offensive glass. CU forced 20 turnovers and collected 14 steals. Four Buffs had at least two steals each.

Frida Formann was CU's top scorer with 15 points and she hit 3-6 three-pointers. Mya Hollingshed had 13 points and eight rebounds.

The Buffs are 20-7, 9-7 in the Pac-12. Oregon St. is 13-12, 6-9 in conference.

Colorado will be the fifth seed in the Pac-12 Tournament and will open against the 12th-seeded Washington Huskies at 1 p.m. MST on Wednesday, March 5 at Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
