CU Women's Basketball Stays Perfect With 79-47 Win Over Texas Southern

Make it five straight wins to start the season for the Colorado Buffaloes women's basketball team.

The Buffs won big for the second time in two nights, defeating Texas Southern, 79-57, Tuesday at the CU Events Center.

Colorado took control early, outscoring the Tigers 20-8 in the first period.

The lead grew from there.

The Buffs were up 44-29 at halftime before closing the game with a 21-8 fourth quarter.

Mya Hollingshead led CU with a double-double, scoring 20 points and hauling down 10 rebounds. Kylee Blacksten and Tayanna Jones added 12 points each.

The Buffs continue their busy week when they host the Rocky Mountain Hoops Classic on Saturday and Sunday. Colorado will open against Louisiana Tech. Coverage starts Saturday, November 27 at 12:30 p.m. MST on 630 KHOW.
