That was the case on Friday for the Colorado Buffaloes, who fell to the Southern Illinois Salukis, 67-63, in the first round of the Paradise Jam tournament in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.

Southern Illinois shot 41.4% on 12-of-29 from three-point range and overcame an early 12-1 deficit to lead 27-19 at halftime.

Colorado battled back to get a double-digit deficit down to 60-58 with 1:33 left. But Southern Illinois was able to put the game away.

Jabari Walker led the Buffs with 16 points and was one of four starters in double figures. Tristan da Silva had 15 points and seven rebounds
