UK Regulator Says Porn Websites Must Introduce Stronger Age-Verification Measures

Today, the UK communications regulator Ofcom issued guidance under the Online Safety Act that will require websites with pornographic material to introduce "robust" age-verification measures for UK users by July 2025. Meanwhile in the United States, the country's supreme court this week heard arguments in the case of Supreme Court announced in July that it would hear oral arguments in the case of Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton, in which plaintiffs are challenging the constitutionality of HB 1811, the age-verification law imposed by Texas for websites with adult content.
