The Colorado Rockies bats broke out in a big way on Wednesday.


The Rockies hit four home runs and outhit the Cubs 15-4 while taking two out of three games in the series.

Nolan Arenado hit two home runs and drove in five runs. His three-run shot in the eighth inning gave the Rockies a 9-2 lead and put the game out of reach.

Trevor Story and Chris Iannetta also went deep for the Rockies, who chased Cubs starter Yu Darvish after four-and-a-third innings.

Meantime, Rockies starter Tyler Anderson continued Colorado's recent run of quality starting pitching. Anderson pitched seven innings and gave up only two runs on three hits. He walked one and struck out nine.

The Rockies are now 3-3 on their nine-game, three city road trip. Their series opener at the Mets will be Friday, May 4 at 4:30 p.m. on KOA NewsRadio 850 AM and 94.1 FM.
