The speculation ends. Vance Joseph is returning as the head coach of the Denver Broncos in 2018.
Joseph is coming back for a second season in spite of the Broncos' 5-11 record in 2017. It was their worst mark since going 4-12 in 2007.
After starting the year 3-1, the Broncos went 2-10 in their final 11 games and endured an eight-game losing streak, their longest since the late 1960s.
Broncos President of Football Operations/GM John Elway had a meeting with Joseph on Monday morning and informed the coach he would be back next year. Elway tweeted that they discussed their "plan to attack this offseason and get better as a team."
There will likely be changes to his coaching staff.
